Interpretive Tree Identification
This is the fourth class in a four part Plant Studies series. The class will feature the common trees of Central Arkansas. In addition to characteristics and features used in Tree Identification, this class will focus on the enjoyment, and appreciation of our photosynthetic neighbors. The class will consist of a classroom presentation followed by a field study that is focused on the Whittington Park Project.
Note: Attendance at the three previous classes is not required. All DLAMNers are welcome and encouraged to attend.
The Classroom Presentation will be from 9:00 to 11:00ish at First Presbyterian Church. The last 15 minutes of the class will introduce DLAMNers to the Whittington Park Project. After a short break, we will move to Whittington Park for the Field Study. There, we will use the information gathered from the Project to aid in Tree Identification and learn how we can volunteer to help complete the Project. The Group Phase of the Field Study will conclude around 12:30ish. There will be a Volunteer Phase that DLAMNers can participate in at any time that is convenient for them and earn volunteer hours.
Special Note: We are very excited to share the details of the Whittington Park Project with DLAMNers. We think the work done so far on the Project will greatly help with Tree Identification. Please make every effort to attend. You’ll be glad you did!
PLEASE NOTE: This class and field study hours can be entered as NiT Training, Continuing Ed, or Volunteer hours.
