The event calendar shows upcoming club events. Select a view then use the navigation buttons to move
between dates. Click on the event to view more information, including the event description, times,
location, fees and any rules regarding attendance; you can also register for events from this screen.
Click on the magnifying glass on the toolbar to see search and filter options.
Fort Smith Public Library
Debra Burris, a favorite presenter for WAMN* Naturalist in Training classes, will cover the science of weather in the morning. She will then follow up with her ‘kitchen table astronomy‘ class, where she describes how to study the skies with tools found in and around the home. Lunch break will be short so plan on bringing a lunch or picking up something nearby.
Hike along the east side of the Lake Alma trail trail and perform light maintenance. Wear appropriate shoes and bring water and loppers or pruning shears if you have them. Meet at the east parking lot.

The morning class is an introduction to the basics of geology, giving context to talk of rocks, minerals, fossils, formations, and ecoregions. The afternoon is a hands-on field session of Trail Maintenance, putting into practice the lessons from the introductory class.
WAMN* Stream Team returns to the banks of Frog Bayou to test the water quality. Head for the gravel bar just upstream from the bridge at downtown Rudy. Dress for the weather. Gumboots would be useful for those catching macroinvertebrates.
The WAMN board of directors meet every month to review activities and plans. Members are welcome to attend to get an insight into upcoming events.
The WAMN chapter meets every other month during Naturalist in Training sessions, then monthly for the rest of the year. Join in for a short business meeting, a relaxing social time, and an interesting ‘TED Talk‘ on a nature topic.

Janet Huckabee River Valley Nature Center
Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is sponsoring an outdoor equipment swap meet at Janet Huckabee Arkansas River Valley Nature Center. WAMN will man a table at the event.
