Thursday December 12 9am-noon, Trail Patrol plans to clear 4.1 miles of the Ozark Highlands Trail, Brush Creek to Twin Creek trailheads milepoints 18-22, the high ridge country. Rendezvous at Brush Creek trailhead parking turnout (OHT Mile 18), and then shuttle up County Road 76/Brush Creek Road to park at OHT mile 20. Divide into two groups. Moderate challenge, distance 1.6 or 2.5 miles. • South team. Return southward to Brush Creek trailhead, distance 1.6 miles, mostly downhill followed by 240’ elevation final ½ mile ascent to trailhead. • North team. 2.5 miles mostly downhill, shuttle back to Brush Creek. Directions. From Mountain Home, drive SE towards Norfork approx. 15 minutes on either Highway 5 or 201. Before Norfork, turn right/south on Highway 341 (Push Mountain Road) across the White River. Follow Push Mountain Road 14½ miles beyond the bridge, pass by Merrill Ridge Road on your left ¼ mile, look for trailhead parking clearing behind the trees on left, just before County Road 76/Brush Creek Road (right). Bring work gloves, loppers, clippers, or use our power tools. You can obtain a USFS map for Sylamore Section OHT. Record your hours Trail Maintenance, sponsor U.S. Forest Service.
