CAMN* Audubon Work Day

CAMN has restarted our weekly workday at Audubon and the connected Gillam Park effective at least until late spring or early summer. Each Tuesday, 0900-1200, we will primarily be doing habitat management and/or trail maintenance. Initially the focus will be on removing invasive plants, creating/maintaining the Oak Savannah for grass-dwelling bird habitat, and establishing fire lines. Most of the work will involve lopping, chain sawing, very selective herbicide application with brushes, dragging cut material into piles, and litter removal.
We will meet at the Audubon Center parking lot (4500 Springer Blvd, LR). Bring normal work clothes, gloves, water, and bug spray. Also bring your preferred tools, or you can use tools provided by Audubon. There will be other volunteer opportunities with Audubon (citizen science, seed collection, interpretation, etc.) in addition to the work days and those will be announced separately.
The weekday work will begin Jan 28.
As always with our projects, come when you can and leave when you want to.
Record volunteer hour Activity according to the work you do. Sponsor is Audubon.
