Join Dr. Dustin Lynch, Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission Aquatic Biologist, for a morning classroom presentation on aquatic biology of our area. The class will be held at the Arkansas School for Math, Science, and the Arts in the Administration Board Room from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Important Update!!! The afternoon session location has changed from Whittington Creek to the Middle Fork Barrens.
Following a break for lunch, we will move from the classroom to the outdoors to collect critters. Those that want to participate in the afternoon session will carpool to one of our adopted areas, Middle Fork Barrens of the Saline River. The diversity and amount of aquatic life at Middle Fork is excellent for collecting aquatic life. In addition, while we are there we will be able to view the Barrens and the very unique ecology of our adopted Natural Area.
Those attending the afternoon session will need to wear appropriate attire if you plan on getting in the water. Bring insect repellent, a sack lunch, water, and a pair of shoes that you don’t mind getting wet.
