Update - Bats and Other Nongame Mammals of Arkansas and a Guided Walk along the Greenway Trail

Join Blake Sasse, Saturday, October 29th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Transportation Depot Meeting Room for a presentation on Bats and Other Nongame Mammals of Arkansas. Blake is the Nongame Mammal Program Leader for the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. The presentation on Arkansas mammals will include information about diseases, study design, and methods. After a break, Blake will discuss Arkansas bats and their ecology and talk a bit about Arkansas mammals. He will bring a bat skeleton and several mammal skins for an up-close look.


Update - The weather forecast for Saturday is for rain. If it is raining, the guided walk will be cancelled.

Following the morning presentation, join the City of Hot Springs Parks and Trails Department andthe Diamond Lakes Arkansas Master Naturalists for a Guided Walk along the Hot Springs Creek Greenway Trail to Hollywood Park to view the recently installed Bat House. The walk will begin on the Greenway Trail adjacent to the Transportation Depot and continue for approximately 1.6 miles to Hollywood Park. Those not wanting to make the walk can meet the group at Hollywood Park at 1:00 p.m. for an up-close look at the new Bat House. Transportation back to the Transportation Depot will be provided for those not wanting to make the walk back.
