CAMNation,<br />The city of Benton will be hosting its first annual Outdoors in October event at Sunset Lake in Benton from 10 am until 2 pm, on Saturday, October 22. The event is focused on introducing kids to all the wonderful things they can do outside. Many local agencies will be there to offer the kids chances to try their hands at archery, shooting, kayaking, and other fun activities. CAMN has been invited to have a booth and our focus will be introducing kids to birding. Our booth will have information about feeding birds and a bird-feeder craft. We will also have a birding activity for the kids to help get them their 1st &quot;I saw it&quot; experience. <br /> <br />We could use a number of volunteers to help out. <br />First we will need help getting the CAMN tent to the lake and set up that morning. I believe we can arrive as early as 8 am to set up. The tent is stored at SJCA. We&#39;ll need help taking the tent down as well. <br /> <br />Then, of course, we will need staff to man the booth. Joellen Beard and I will have all of the crafts, activities, and supplies available, but we could sure use some additional folks to help us get the kids get started on their 1st birding adventure! Since this is the 1st event they&#39;ve done, we have no idea how many people to expect, but we want to be prepared for many.<br /> <br />If you&#39;d like to help, please register for this event on the CAMN event calendar. If you can only stay for part of the time, that&#39;s fine - just let us know.
