Mount Nebo State Park Great AR Cleanup

About this event

For October's monthly Mount Nebo State Park workday, we will be participating in Keep Arkansas Beautiful's 2024 Great Arkansas Cleanup.

Volunteers are invited to come out to the park anytime in the morning between 8:30 a.m. and 12:00 noon to help keep our state parks beautiful! Supplies will be provided, but please bring water and a snack, and dress appropriately.

Litter is not a huge issue at the park, but constant erosion of the mountain leads to lots of microtrash being exposed after every rain, high wind, etc. Our focus will include collecting microtrash around the campground and overlooks as well as collecting bits of glass and ceramic that are mainly concentrated around the Rim Trail and the area where the Summit Park Hotel once stood.

The park also has Ozark Chinquapin saplings and FAMN's native wildflower garden, for anyone who is not able to help collect litter but would still like to come out and lend a helping hand.

This is a great opportunity for FAMN to connect with the local community around Dardanelle and Russellville and share a bit about what we do! If you have a FAMN t-shirt or name tag, please feel free to wear it to help spread the word about our group!
