CAMN General Meeting - In-person and Zoom: Climate Change, Modern Farming, & the Global Food Supply

About this event

Extreme weather patterns caused by climate change barrage farmers of all crops. The loss of the availability and diversity of food across the globe will cause job loss, price increases, more hunger, and, even, threats to societal structures and national security. Sixth-generation Arkansas farmer, Hallie Shoffner, will talk about the role agriculture must play in addressing climate change and how to open productive and actionable dialogues between farmers and consumers. Hallie Shoffner is a sixth-generation farmer in the Arkansas-Mississippi Delta and a climate activist. She operates a 1,500-acre soybean, corn, rice, and wheat farm and works to create productive conversations between consumers and farmers who care about the dangers of climate change. She also advocates for and implements regenerative farming practices that improve environmental impacts and conserve and restore natural resources while increasing profits for producers. 2 hours CE, sponsor CAMN
