Meet at Double-Drop Falls Trailhead at Bluffton Nature Preserve.

About 6.0 miles north of the Hwy 65/09 intersection in Clinton on Hwy 65, take County Road 79/Watergate Road (600 feet north and across from Botkinburg Foursquare Church – Correctly located on Google). Continue for 3.8 miles (keep right at both intersections) until it ends. You’ll see a sign for Double Drop Falls, the first place to access the trail system inside Bluffton Preserve.

Objectives and Details:

Removal of debris from recent ice-storms (mostly cutting and removing deadfall that has crossed the trail) will be our focus; if time permits, removal of some of the barbwire and check of the Native Habitat plots.

Water
Rudimentary First-Aid Kit
Heavy leather gloves that still provide some dexterity
Eye protection
Appropriate clothing for the project and weather
Hiking boots (ankle support preferred) with a second set of socks
Snacks (Protein Bars, Jerky, etc.)
Walking stick if you choose

Carpooling/Caravanning:

If you would like to carpool/caravan, meet at Robert Fuhler’s house 29 Ridgeview Drive, Conway (correctly located on Google Earth) between 1200 and 1215.

Please be on time; notify me (Robert Fuhler 501.733.4019) if you will be late; I hate to be a pooty-head, but the departure time of 1215 is concrete as we will be on a schedule.

If you are in the Clinton area and would like to caravan or carpool, I anticipate being in Clinton at the south parking area adjacent to the Garden Center at Walmart (35.565993,-92.454202) between 1250 and 1310; look for a Dark Gray 4Runner.
