Meet at the parking lot of the Camp Robinson Special Use Area (CRSUA): 34.992258, -92.358964 (copy and paste coordinates into Google Maps/Earth).


Type of Project:

Native plant scouting outing to identify species that will be ready for seed collection later this month. The future seeds that will be collected will be used for various projects this fall/winter. As is the case for this time of year, several species will be identified by inflorescence, including Lance-leaf Coreopsis (Coreopsis lanceolata), Pale Purple Coneflower (Echinacia pallida), Phlox, Tall Spiderwort (Tradescantia, spp)and Foxglove (Digitalis, spp).


General Directions:

Take Exit 135 off I-40 in Mayflower, go east on Hwy 89 (towards Lake Conway) for approximately 4.5 miles to Clinton Road (on left); go down Clinton Road for approx 2.6 miles; go left on Nursery Pond Road; parking area will be 180 feet on the right (across from the AGFC maintenance offices).


What to Bring/Wear:

* Appropriate Clothing for weather with boots
* Insect Spray
* Water
* Notepad and plant ID app for phone.


Carpool/caravan is available. Meet at Robert's house no later than 1:30; please contact Robert the previous evening to coordinate.
