FAMN - Bluffton Visit

Meet at the Parking Lot of Bluffton House across from Double-Drop Falls Trailhead at 1:00 on Wednesday, 29 May.

The objective is to check and catalog growth of Ozark Chinquapins that have been planted and tubed earlier this spring. One site is easily accessible with the other two sites being off-trail. Join us for one or all the site check(s). We will also try to work in a seed collection for Woodland Phlox (follow link below to Sid’s ANPS article) and check the Native Habitat/pollinator plots.

These are experimental plantings whose sites were chosen by assessing positive environmental factors for natural growth with minimal intervention. The trees will be monitored but mostly left to nature unless conditions may require periodic watering.

Please bring water and good hiking boots with ankle support.
