About this event
North Central Arkansas Master Naturalists will host a birding field trip on Ozark Isle Nature Preserve located on Marion County 141 Friday, September 6th at 8:30 a.m. We will walk 3-4 miles on the paved, fairly flat roads scanning the lake for waterfowl and wading birds and the forest for woodpeckers and perching birds. Bring your binoculars, sun protection, water and bug spray.
We will meet at the causeway gate and start our walk at 8:30 a.m. We expect to walk for 2-3 hours, though you are welcome to join for just a portion of the walk. A gravel parking area is on the left-hand side of the road shortly before the causeway gate.
There is no bathroom on-site. Oakland Park USACE Campground is the closest facility with restrooms that are open seasonally (May 1 - September 30).
The trip is free and open to the public. You do not need to be an NCAMN member to attend nor do you have to be an experienced birder.
