About this event
How about a nice native plant walk and talk to take your mind off of those hot days of summer? Our own Dr. John Simpson and Belinda Jonak will be leading us on a leisurely stroll down Wildcat Road. We will hike to Dripping Springs and the shore of beautiful Lake Rix, where we will stop for a rest, snacks, and a chance to solve the world's problems. On the way we will have a chance to see many of our native plant species.
On Oct. 19 we will meet at the end of Wildcat Road at 9AM and should be back at the trailhead about noonish. You will want to bring water, a snack. And don't forget insect repellant to avoid any late season chiggers and the ever-present and stealthy ticks. The hike begins by crossing a creek of unpredictable depth and speed but rest assured assistance will be provided. The trail may be muddy, so leave you Sunday school shoes at home. If the weather and trail are not favorable that day, we will try to reschedule for the following Saturday. The hours will count toward NIT training or Continuing Ed. for NATs
