NCAMN - Gaston Wildflower Meadow Prescribed Burn

About this event

The NCAMN Gaston Wildflower Meadow Team will conduct a prescribed burn with the assistance or AGFC personnel. This burn is necessary to clean up thatch and encourage the growth of native forbs and grasses. It will also help knock back non-native invasives.

Participants will need to wear natural fiber clothing, sturdy footwear and gloves (leather is preferred). Do not wear clothes made of synthetic fiber….it is highly flammable! Please bring a leaf rake with metal tines (no plastic!) and drinking water.

Volunteer hours will be logged as follows: Activity - Volunteer - Natural Habitat Maintenance, Sponsor: State Park: Bull Shoals-White River State Park.

Please check for cancellation due to unfavorable weather conditions before coming to the meadow.
