About this event
Calling all artists and those who are wanna be's! How about a pop up project where we can practice our skills and paint a gate yellow? Specifically the swinging gate at the entrance to the Nature Conservancy's Trap Mountain Preserve. On the morning of October 31 we will meet at the gate after turning off Highway 7S onto Amity Road just past Atchley's Outpost and then travel west 7.7 miles on Amity Road to turn left at the closed gate adjacent to a large sign for Almond Asphalt. The keypad at the gate responds to code: 7582. After gate opens drive straight past some rough looking areas about ½ mile where we meet . Let's plan to be there at 9:00. Wear old clothes. Equipment will be provided. When we finish (or get loopy on paint fumes- probably 90-120 minutes) we'll take a little nature walk down the road. Bring water and snacks as you wish. Projected weather looks good now but bags can shift in flight. Painting this gate ten years ago was one of DLMN's first projects and it is time to repaint and pickup added volunteer hours. Hope to see you then/there!
