Subject: Thank you & a Reminder About KLRB Trash Extraction on Saturday
From: John Sommer

THIS MESSAGE IS FROM REED GREEN...

Thanks to everyone who came out this past Saturday to prep for the trash extraction event this coming Saturday.
We were able to accomplish more than expected. Trails were weed-whacked from the service road into the area east of Coleman Creek, north of Fourche Creek, where we had the March KLRB event, when a handful of us extracted just under 1,600 pounds; I filled 6, 45-gallon container bags within about a 10 square foot area. Trails were opened up to access the legacy trash piles in the area and the old sewer line that leads into the area.  A trail was cut to where the large (champion) cypress tree is, if you want to go see it. Also, the scenic loop trail that we've serviced many times before was weed-whacked and opened up. Heat-wise, it wasn't bad at all.  We were working under the shade of the tree canopy above, and a light breeze was blowing through.
This Saturday, July 26, 9:00 am - 12:00 pmKeep Little Rock Beautiful and Friends of Fourche Creek will be hosting a trash extraction event in Fourche Bottoms. We need all the people we can get to come out and help. We'll have the Gorilla Carts out there to transfer the trash from the piles to the service road to weigh and take to the dumpster. So, we'll need folks to stay at the service road to weigh and transport trash, folks to pull the carts back and forth, and folks to collect and bag the trash.
The more folks we get out there, the sooner we can get out of there.
Arrive fully hydrated.  Bring your own reusable water bottle.  We'll have a water jug out there to refill them.
     Thanks,
Reed

Here's a photo I shot back in January of one of the piles in the area:
