The Little Rock Air Force Base will be hosting a National Public Lands Day event on Saturday, September 27. They plan to pick up trash, discuss recreation opportunities both on and off Base for military members, and conduct some iNaturalist nature walks through their pollinator garden and adjacent habitat. They would love to invite CAMN members to participate in this event by bringing a table and canopy to present any outreach materials we may have about recreation, Arkansas flora and fauna, or any pollinator-specific routines. We could even present habitat management demonstrations or native plant transfers in the pollinator garden if we end up with volunteers who would like to participate in this way. Otherwise, it would still be beneficial for CAMN to have an exhibit table with flyers, info, seed packets, and conversation!
This will be LRAFB's second time hosting an NPLD event. Last year, they had 20 attendees, but we are advertising through the Air Force network this year so we hope to reach a broader audience.
If you would like to participate in this event, please email the LRAFB contact as well as CAMN president John Sommer - contact info for both is below.
