DLAMN - Dripping Springs Hike
About this event
Dr. John Simpson will lead us on a late winter hike to the Dripping Springs at the end of Wildcat Road, off Cedar Glades Road. There will be an emphasis on winter plant identification. As many of you know from previous outings, there is a possibility of a late site change dependent on our ability to traverse the stream at the trail onset. If high water prevents this hike path, we will return to Whittington Park, where Bill Randel has led outings to tag and identify trees. If not out of town, Bill has agreed to lead this event.
Bring appropriate footwear for possible damp and muddy spots on the Dripping Springs path. Also bring a bit of lunch and water to enjoy as we overlook lovely Lake Rix just a little past the springs. Walking sticks and weather appropriate clothing are always a good consideration. The good news is that mosquitos and chiggers are not a problem!
We will meet at Whittington Park, just south of the cold-water spring and caravan to the trailhead at 9:00AM (or just meet us at the trailhead on Wildcat Road).
