DLAMN - Geology of Arkansas

About this event

Arkansas is home to some of the most diverse plant and animal life in the United States, due largely to its geology. In this class we will learn firsthand about the fascinating processes that produced Arkansas and has had such a propound effect on its flora and fauna.
Our class will be led by Angela Chandler, Assistant Director of the Arkansas Geology Survey. After her classroom presentation, Angela will lead us on a float trip to explore the unique geology of Lake Ouachita, with the assistance of our own Emily Stubblefield, state park interpreter.
Participants will need to bring a sack lunch, water, and sunscreen.
