Star parties are usually held outdoors at dark sky sites on clear nights Telescopes are set up well prior to the stars appearing. All flashlights are covered with red film so that "night vision" is preserved.
This virtual Star party will use a computer planetarium, and objects normally viewed through a telescope will be located and observed in detail. You will not have to cover your flashlights - you will not have to dress warmly or worry about clouds. Just Sit back, learn a little bit of astronomy, and enjoy the wonders of the night sky.
This class will be presented by our own Jerry Simmons. It will be held at 1st Presbyterian Church at 9 AM. It will earn you 3 NIT training hours or continuing ed hours.
