FAMN - Mount Nebo Trail Workday

About this event

Friends of Nebo is leading this project, which is the restoration of Mount Nebo's Rim Trail after 90 years of erosion. The trail is being resurfaced, and help is needed to shovel gravel from the staging area to the trail and rake it smooth. More information is available on the Facebook event page in the Friends of Nebo group.

Steve Bost (founder of the Ozark Chinquapin Foundation) will also be coming out to help. After lunch, we will check on the trees that are planted on Mount Nebo. This is a great opportunity for NiTs to learn about this wonderful native tree so many people are working so hard to protect!

To get to the meeting place at Sunset Point, turn right at the top of the mountain and continue to the end of the mountain, where you will find 2 gravel parking lots on the right. The meeting time is at 8am, but feel free to join us later if that is too early for you. If you are planning to arrive at 8am, carpooling is available from Andrea's house in Russellville.

Please don't wait until the last minute to register! Friends of Nebo will be providing lunch for all the volunteers, and they need a headcount to make sure they prepare enough food!

*This event counts for volunteer time as trail maintenance and education time sponsored by Mount Nebo State Park.*
