About this event
Mark your calendars!
The OCPPWSCD Party is a fairly interesting endeavor; please plan to attend.
This function will involve the explanation and technique of a new process for fall planting of the Ozark Chinquapin and creation of wire cages for the planting of blight resistant Ozark Chinquapin seedlings acquired from the OCF (Ozark Chinquapin Foundation). Hours can be used for education.
UPDATE: Steve Bost (OCF) has sent cage material that will be used for the 2nd year and more mature trees (such as those at Bell Slough). The wider cage material will also be used to replace first year cages at Bluffton and for the Woolley Hollow trees. In addition, materials and technique for the plug planting technique will be explained and applied for fall plantings at Sugarloaf Mtn and Smith Creek Preserve.
Although the primary objective is for the Chinquapins, interested individuals are invited to a hang out for a bonfire conflagration afterwards. Therefore, bring something to take the edge off hunger and to quell thirst; otherwise, do not feel obliged…there will be plenty of victuals and drink at hand.
Hopefully see you all here! All are welcome, including kiddos and significant others. However, please note that the location is not child proofed by any stretch of the imagination.
As an aside, and if still here after sundown, bring flashlights and we will wander about for a spider hunt!
This function will be at Robert’s abode- 29 Ridgeview Drive in Conway (correctly located in GE and Maps).
