DLAMN - Stream Team Event

About this event

Dr. Alex Barnard, Associate Professor of Biology at National Park College instructor and DLAMN member, will conduct a Stream Team training and sampling session on May 16.
Agenda:
9-11:30 - Presentation on water chemistry, stream ecology, and sampling techniques, followed by water chemistry testing in the lab (using water collected earlier that morning). If you're used to performing the chemistry tests while hunched over a table outdoors, this will be much more comfortable! Location: Lab Science room 123 on the NPC campus; 34°30'46.8"N 93°07'04.8"W (Do NOT use the College's official address for navigation - it will take you to the wrong side of campus.)
12-2: Lunch and macroinvertebrate sampling. Location: Bull Bayou Picnic Area; 34.5296498, -93.0960664
You're welcome to attend just one or both sessions. Alex will provide all needed sampling equipment.
What to bring:
Lunch
Water
Bug spray
Shoes and clothes you don't mind getting wet (if you plan to get in the stream - it's optional)
This is a great way to lea
