Good afternoon, CAMN members!
I hope you are not sick and tired of me writing about the CALS Park that Nate Coulter wants to establish on 2nd Street, across from the CALS Main Library.
It sounds like the resolution proposed by Nate Coulter will be on the LR BoD TOMORROW NIGHT!!! (there appears to be a bit of uncertainty, however). I am attaching a letter that CALS sent to people who told them they supported the idea of a park. There is a link in the letter to the resolution. The letter says the resolution might be voted on, but a member of the Library Board told me, in an email, that she had been assured it would be discussed tomorrow.
The Board needs to vote in favor of the resolution for Coulter to ask for year-end tax-deductible contributions and start working with the landscape architects to get the project underway. Both Coulter and the lead landscape architect understand the importance of native plants--it is my understanding that the plants to be put in the park will be natives!
In spite of the uncertainty, I am going to the meeting--2nd Floor, City Hall, 500 West Markham St, LR at 6 PM, December 16, 2025. I hope you can attend as well.
My plan is to arrive early, with stickers to put up your shirt. Please look for me and get one. Also, there is a possibility that the person who will speak about the resolution will ask supporters to stand. This is a tactic that I have seen sway Director's opinions in the past.
If you can't attend, you can email your city directors. Text me if you have questions.
Thank you. I hope to see you there!
