From: Anne Holcomb

This email is an update from Lynn Foster RE the upcoming Arkansas Reads Leopold event this weekend (March 7-8)

Dear CAMNation,

Saturday there's a high chance of rain, which means it will be a great day to visit the Little Rock Audubon Center between 10 and noon to hear some readings from Aldo Leopold's A Sand County Almanac and pick up your own free copy!

Our Saturday readers include Dan Olsen, Forest Supervisor for both Arkansas national forests, Kwami Abdul-Bey, with the Public Policy Panel, Ann Owen, President of the Ozark Society Pulaski Chapter (and CAMN member), Jade McCraney, a Southwest High School student, Cadence Ventress, a NiT and environmental activist at UA Little Rock, CAMN members Diane Brownlee and Anne Holcomb, and several others.

On Sunday from noon to 2 pm, readers include CAMN members Ariana Remmel, Beth White, Corbin Cannon, Cherrie-Lee Phillip, John Sommer, and Jodi Morris, as well as Ragan Sutterfield, who will read an excerpt from his new book, Watch and Wonder, Glen Hooks with Audubon Delta, Jenn Ballard, the Director of ANHC, and George Wise, Chair of the Central Arkansas Group of the Arkansas Sierra Club.

You can read along as our readers present classic essays like "Thinking Like a Mountain," "Good Oak," "Prairie Birthday," and "Sky Dance." We'll be reading works by Robin Wall Kimmerer, J. Drew Lanham, Mary Oliver, and other nature writers as well.

"There are some who can live without wild things, and some who cannot." Join us as we celebrate the writings of those who cannot live without wild things!

Birding field trips will be offered before the readings if weather permits, as will nature walks following the readings.
