About this event
Come enjoy the cooler weather at Woolly Hollow State Park, where we have a few different activities planned to help out around the park! Our meeting spot will be the large parking lot by the swim beach/snack bar.
- The state park staff has been making progress on site preparation for the prairie restoration project at the park entrance. Larry and Laurie, who are both experienced members of our habitat restoration team, will meet with the park superintendent to check on how site prep is going and coordinate next steps.
- The flowerbed by the snack bar is always in need of a bit of maintenance, so bring your gardening supplies if you want to help out here! In addition to the usual weeding and tidying up, we have a few plants in pots that will need to be planted, labeled, and watered.
- Some of the park's trails are in need of reblazing with spray paint. The park staff have all the supplies we will need, so just make sure to dress for a hike if you want to help out on this project. The Cabin Trail is an easy 1-mile loop, and the Huckleberry Trail is an easy 3.5-mile loop.
This event will count for Natural Area Maintenance volunteer hours sponsored by Woolly Hollow.
