| Greetings CAMNation!
We are in a pickle and are hoping someone will be able to help. The Museum of Discovery's Tinkerfest is just two weeks away. CAMN has been invited to attend, but we need to someone to lead the charge!
If you are not familiar, Tinkerfest is a HANDS-ON festival headed up by the Museum of Discovery wherein kids and their families can come and participate in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) themed activities. The aim of Tinkerfest is to "spark a lifelong love of learning by letting people of all ages play, experiment, and create with everyday objects and technology," an aim that certainly fits within the Arkansas Master Naturalists' educational mission.
If you would be willing to take the lead or assist with this event, please let me know (respond to this email) ASAP. We need someone to take the lead before we can commit! CAMN has a number of nature-themed activity books available from Junior Naturalist Camp. Some of the activities could be adapted to the 'come and go' nature of the Tinkerfest event. Let me know and I will get them to you.
Location: Museum Of Discovery - 500 President Clinton Avenue, Little Rock
Date: Saturday, September 12th
Time: 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM (plus setup and breakdown)
Please note...this will be an outdoor event, and so it will likely be warm/hot! Last year, we were set up under the I-30 bridge across from the MOD, so we had shade, but I am unsure of exactly where the setup will be this year.
