Training
Training is provided by the chapter. Training is offered through speakers and hands-on training during work activities.
All training is guided by a mentor.
Over 50 hours of combined classroom and field instruction on ecological topics are presented by area experts.
To become a Master Naturalist, one must:
-- Be over 18 years of age.
-- Enroll in our annual training program for new members.
-- Pay the $30 annual membership fee, plus $70 for tuition and materials fee, prior to training.*
-- Attend a minimum of 40 hours of the training provided.
New Member Annual Training:
-- Held on Saturdays.
-- Class size is limited, spaces reserved on a first come, first serve basis.
-- Held at various area locations.
Certification:
Master Naturalists perform at least 40 hours of volunteer service and complete 8 hours of advanced training within the organization’s fiscal year to become and remain certified.
