Caddo River

The Caddo River flows out of the Ouachita Mountains through Montgomery, Pike, and Clark counties in Arkansas before flowing into DeGray Lake and then to its terminus at the Ouachita River north of Arkadelphia, Arkansas. The upper Caddo is known as a good family canoeing river and is a popular destination for fishing. Smallmouth and spotted bass are found in quantity, as are longear and green sunfish.

Protected by the ANHC, this 206 acre area contains a complex of open glades, barrens, and dry oak woodlands, as well as several globally rare, endemic plant species. The area also includes a one-third mile stretch along the Saline River which has been adopted by our DLAMN STREAM TEAM volunteers who working in cooperation with the AGFC will help monitor the healthiness of the water.
