The City of Little Rock is planning to replace a section of the wall along the “Promenade” next to Pulaski Heights Baptist Church.

Another project will build a paved path from the promenade and connect to a lower path that is already paved.

The Hillcrest Residents Association has received approval for a Love Your Block grant to install a pollinator garden next to this new trail.

One Item that has come up is the overgrowth of vegetation, primarily vines on the trees on the North, Park side of Kavanaugh.

CAMN will address this on Monday, October 14, 2019, 9:00 AM.

Our plan for this day is only to cut vines that are climbing up the trees.

This will kill the top of the vines that will drop leaves and open up the tree canopy as well as reducing wind load on the large trees. The trail construction contractor will be removing vegetation for the trail. After the trail is complete we will go back and assess the situation and remove some of the invasives via the new paved trail.

If you would like to help with the phase one, cutting of vines, come to the Promenade on October 14 at 9:00 A.M. The address of the adjacent Baptist Church is 2200 Kavanaugh, Little Rock, 72205.

Bring gloves, loppers, hand saws, water, bug spray, etc. There is some poison ivy but mostly on the trees.

Contact Reed or Rob for more details.
