“Urban Landscaping for Wildlife and Wellness” with Sean Pessarra.

This seminar will focus on design elements and considerations for cultivating a healthy home and neighborhood through the planting of edible landscapes, vegetable gardens, and pollinators. These landscapes also create wildlife habitat. These elements work in concert to create spaces that are both aesthetically, ecologically, and nutritionally bountiful. This will be an aerial view of the topic and provide resources for digging deeper on your own.

Sean Pessarra is the Horticulture Specialist for Heifer USA in Perryville, AR. He manages the 3-acre organic vegetable garden and oversees farmer training, public education, research and development, and vegetable variety trials. Prior to his work with Heifer International, Sean worked for several years as an ecologist and environmental scientist in Texas. He also runs a small beekeeping business, Mindful Honey, which he started 7 years ago.

Seating is limited, so please register by clicking one of the links below. Seating is a first-come/first-served basis on the day of the seminar. We have comfortable seating in our overflow room, complete with a live video feed.

There is a fee of $5 per person.
