Our speaker is Jeff Nash, CAMN member. Jeff is former chair of the Sociology and Anthropology Department at UA, Little Rock. He has taught at University of Tulsa, Macalester College and Missouri State University. He and his wife Dina (CAMN) have presented papers at professional meetings on the resistance to the construction of the Turk coal plant. Tonights presentation addresses how large scale production, economic and population pressures and global capitalism exploit and shape nature. So much so, that scientists now refer our current epoch as the anthropocene. Environmental sociologists identify the intended and unintended consequences that social forces have on nature. In this talk, I review current research and theory about the ways that society interacts with nature.
Presentation at 6:30. Approved for 1.5 hours CE (enter hours as Continuing Education), sponsor CAMN
