FAMN - Cove Creek Natural Area - Workday

We will begin at 8:30 AM and continue working through the day as necessary.
However, arrive when you can and stay only as long as you are able.

WORK:

We will assemble in the parking area to review the project.
If enough volunteers are present we will divide into two crews with one working on the Upper Bridge and the other on the Lower Bridge.
Workers with anger issues can begin with the demolition of the existing bridges.
Those with a modicum of carpentry skills can do the assembly—some digging will be required, but no sawing as the material is precut.
Several porters will be needed to transport material to each site and remove debris from the demolished bridges.
- There are many treads (short planks) to move but they can be handled easily by most anyone.
- The beams (4) are long and heavy and will require strength and a coordinated crew.

TOOLS:

Most tools will be provided.
A couple more rechargeable impact drivers and/or drills would be helpful.
Make sure they are charged as there is no electricity.

LUNCH:

Lunch will be provided—prepared sandwiches, chips, and cookies.
However, bring your OWN drinks.

HEALTH:

COVID-19 continues to rear its ugly head so...
Please be diligent about maintaining distance
Wear a mask when working in close proximity to others.
Please be attentive and cautious throughout the entire day.

LOCATION:

Cove Creek can be difficult to find.
Use Google Maps to obtain directions to the Cove Creek Natural Area.
Temporary directional signs will be posted for the day.

It should be a fun and rewarding project.
