FAMN - Cove Creek Natural Area - Workday

  • We will begin at 8:30 AM and continue working through the day as necessary.
  • However, arrive when you can and stay only as long as you are able.
WORK:
  • We will assemble in the parking area to review the project
  • If enough volunteers are present we will divide into two crews with one working on the Upper Bridge and the other on the Lower Bridge.
  • Workers with anger issues can begin with the demolition of the existing bridges.
  • Those with a modicum of carpentry skills can do the assembly—some digging will be required, but no sawing as the material is precut.
  • Several porters will be needed to transport material to each site and remove debris from the demolished bridges.
    • There are many treads (short planks) to move but they can be handled easily by most anyone.
    • The beams (4) are long and heavy and will require strength and a coordinated crew.
TOOLS:
  • Most tools will be provided.
  • A couple more rechargeable impact drivers and/or drills would be helpful.
  • Make sure they are charged as there is no electricity.
LUNCH:
  • Lunch will be provided—prepared sandwiches, chips, and cookies.
  • However, bring your OWN drinks.
HEALTH:
  • COVID-19 continues to rear its ugly head so...
  • Please be diligent about maintaining distance
  • Wear a mask when working in close proximity to others.
  • Please be attentive and cautious throughout the entire day
