Invasive Plant Removal (Beaver Watershed Alliance)

When: Friday, April 30th, 2:00pm - 6:00pm
Where: Kessler Mountain Regional Park, across from the large soccer field and parking lot.
Details: The Alliance is partnering with the City of Fayetteville Parks & Recreation Department to remove invasive bush honeysuckle from Kessler Mountain Regional Park's Ground Cherry Creek. Volunteers will be taught how to identify this highly invasive understory shrub and methods to remove it, as well as tips on how to replace it with native species.
What is provided: Gloves, tools, snacks, disposable masks, and hands-free sanitizer will be provided.
What to bring/wear: dress warmly and in clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Long-sleeve shirts and pants are recommended. Following Arkansas Health Dept. recommendations, masks are encouraged.
Directions: Meet at the parking lot south of the soccer fields. Signs will point to check-in station. If coming from Fayetteville, take Razorback Road south until Razorback turns into Cato Springs Rd., follow Cato Springs Rd. and turn right onto Judge Cummings Rd (WC-200), follow into Kessler Mountain Regional Park and park in either the first or second parking lot. Sign-in will be across from second parking lot across from the large soccer fields. If coming from I-49, take exit 60 and turn south onto Cato Springs Rd. Continue as above from Cato Springs Rd. into Kessler Mountain Regional Park.
