DLAMN - Rise and Shine Hike on the Northwoods Trail

Come on out all you early birds! It is time to get back on the trail. We will meet at 7:30 on Saturday morning, September 4 at the Pullman Trailhead of the Northwoods Trail. Directions to the trailhead are below.

The hike will be approximately 3.0 miles round trip from the trailhead to Sanderson Lake and back. We will begin on Pullman Trail which is a 0.65-mile trail that connects hikers and mountain bikers from downtown Hot Springs to the Northwoods Trails through a section of Hot Springs National Park. PLEASE NOTE that the Pullman Trail passes near a historic homesite. Objects that may appear to be trash, such as bottles, tin cans, toys, and even a car, are archeological artifacts. They are protected by federal law and should be left in place. At the end of the Pullman Trail we will connect with the Dewdropper and Freeman Trails that will take us to Lake Sanderson. The hike is on the plus side of moderate. It has an elevation change of a little over 100 feet and the trail is rough in places. Wear appropriate footwear. You will need to bring water, insect repellant, perhaps a snack and a last cup of coffee.

Directions to the Pullman Trailhead located at 800 Pullman Avenue:

From Park Avenue, turn north onto Pullman Ave. Travel a short distance to Pullman Heights United Methodist Church. At the church you will make a slight jog to the left to remain on Pullman Ave. The Pullman Trailhead is at the end of Pullman Ave. There is plenty of parking at the trailhead.
