Where: Woolly Hollow Pavilion
In addition to a chapter meeting to catch up on what’s going on with BioBlast22 planning, 2022 NiT training, and other chapter business, we will welcome the park interpreter, Sam Files to find out what’s going on at the park and perhaps enjoy a hike. We will also be doing some volunteer work at the park. (If we do volunteer work, we get the pavilion free!)
A few possible things they need help with are:
1.the gardens around the old visitor center (native garden and beds surrounding it), the sign bed, and the garden around the new visitor center.
2. Trail maintenance, such as blowing leaves away from entrances and picking up limbs, trimming, replacing trail markers that people take home for souvenirs.
3. Help with invasive plant removal. (they have had help from girl scouts and the Arkansas Parks Trail Maintenance crew, and kudzu eradication)
4. Clean up around the shore of Lake Bennett. It is really low now, so things are showing that usually aren't seen.
