DLAMN: Grow Native - Supporting Monarchs and Other Native Pollinators

Join Leslie Cooper, Arkansas Monarch and Pollinator Coordinator, for a course in monarch butterflies, native bees, and the habitats that support them. Leslie will cover the habitat needs and biology of some of our native pollinators including native plants to plant, how to provide overwintering habitat, and what to avoid. She will also talk about pollinator conservation across the state and how you can get involved. Handouts will be provided.

The morning session will be 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in the Boardroom at the Arkansas School for Math, Science, and the Arts, 200 Whittington Avenue.

There will be an afternoon activity where participants will reconvene after lunch and plant native seeds using the "milk jug propagation" method. The activity will be 1:00 p.m. – 300 p.m., St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 228 Springs St.
