A survey of the most common wild edible plants of the Ouachita Highlands, including discussion on identification, harvesting methods, processing techniques and typical uses for consumption. Some examples will be available for tasting.
We'll break for lunch around 12 noon. Plan on bringing a sack lunch. Following our lunch break, we will walk the forest near Camp Clearfork in search of wild edibles. Be sure to bring water and insect repellent.
