Where:
Meet at the The Quarry parking lot of the Kenny Vernon Nature Trail is at 34.937453,-92.414553 (cut and paste coordinates into search box in Google Earth).
Take Exit 135 off I-40 in Mayflower, go north and take the access road next to the commuter parking lot and continue south (paralleling the interstate) for 2.4 miles to the trailhead parking lot access on the left (after crossing a bridge).
Pass the trailhead parking for the Kenny Vernon Trail (34.939090, -92.418055) and continue east for approximately 0.17 mile (890’), there will be an access road to the left that will continue approximately 150 yards to the parking area in the quarry. Either drive or park on the road and walk back.
Generally, the location is southeast of Mayflower.
Objectives and Details:
Refurbishing of old gazebo/arbor to add/rebuild into a pergola structure adjacent to the Chinquapin site at Bell Slough on the Kenny Vernon Trail. The physical location of the structure is at: 34.940359,-92.410441.
There will be several trail vehicles for material and tool transport to the site; those with mobility issues will have priority to ride to the site on the vehicles.
What to Bring:
• Water
• Rudimentary First-Aid Kit
• Gloves
• Appropriate clothing for the project and weather
• Boots
• Snacks (Protein Bars, Jerky, etc.)

• Construction techniques for refurbishment of existing structure
• Use of various tools for outdoor pergola construction
