Volunteer Orientation: Interested in becoming a volunteer? Join us for this basic overview of the park and the need for volunteers. Park staff will talk about the programs that they are leading and why they are important. This will also be a chance to meet current volunteers as we socialize over refreshments. Registration not required.

Girl Scouts Love State Parks 2023: Habitat Exploration Hike: Girl Scouts, especially those in 4th and 5th grade, are invited to join our interpretive staff on a guided nature journey along the easy half-mile Sinking Stream Trail. Explore this diverse habitat and participate in a fun activity that lets you experience how habitat affects our wild inhabitants. Completing this
program helps earn the Animal Habitat (Grades 4-5) badge. Space is limited, please pre-register by contacting the park at 479-789-5000 by September 4th, 2023. Meet at the Van Winkle/Sinking Stream Trailhead. #GSLSP2023

Reading Rocker: The Monarch March! Come hear the story of the Monarch butterfly and the amazing journey they are about to make. We will look for them in all their life cycle stages in the native plant gardens and make a monarch-themed paper craft to take home. Meet at the Education Pavilion. Recommended ages 4+.

Tale of the Turtle: Join Park Interpreter Steve while you learn some interesting facts about these reptile friends. Why are there five toes on a three-toed box turtle? There is an easy way to tell the difference between a boy and a girl turtle. Do you know the secret?

Hobbs History: Sit back and relax with our park history guru, Park Interpreter Steve, to learn more about how and when this area became a state park, why we are designated as a Conservation Area, and other interesting history related
