Our own Terry Thomason will be leading a Stream Team training event at the Middle Forks Barrens. Any members that have not participated in a Stream Team event are encouraged to attend. We have several opportunities during the year to use this training on both the Middle Fork of the Saline River and the Caddo River. The Stream Team program is part of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission's efforts to monitor the water quality of Arkansas's streams and rivers. This will give you an opportunity to visit the Middle Fork Barrens and have a chance to play in the middle fork of the Saline River.
Terry recommends that you bring water shoes or wading boots, sun protection, a sack lunch, and water. The event is weather dependent, so watch the weather reports and check your emails. We will meet at 9am at the parking lot of the Dollar General on Hwy 5 North and can carpool from there. There is a map link on our website that will give you accurate directions to the Middle Fork Barrens site. This will earn you 6 hours of NIT training or continuing ed hours. Don't forget to log your time and milage.
